Non Geographic Numbers, or NGNs are numbers that are not related to a geographic area by using an area code. They work by translating or overlaying a non-geographic number into a geographic "target" number before the call is routed to its destination; hence NGNs are often referred to as "Number Translation Services", or NTS. |
